This is the first book in a multi volume series about the life of Gumbo and his many adventures as he grows up.

NODA Townhome Living
- This is the second volume in The Life of Gumbo Series. Gumbo moves into a new town home. He learns that change is good. Rancho de Chiquita
- The eight volume in The Life of Gumbo a multi volume series. Gumbo moves into a room in the Ranch House in Malibu, California. Geraldine, not only lives and owns Rancho de Chiquita, she runs a dog rescue and is a famous chef. Gumbo gets all kinds of new experiences staying on the 225-acre ranch at the top of Corral Canyon. Gumbo is a little guy with big plans. He's the hopeful hero in this series, who goes through many trials and tribulations but learns to trust his mommy no matter what happens along the way.
This story teaches children a lesson on trust and how it is built over small experiences not just one event. My kids are getting older but I read this to my cousin’s children 2,7,and 8 yo) and they want to know what happens next. Off to book 2.

It’s most certainly special to rescue a puppy from a shelter. This book series takes us on rescued Gumbo’s journey with him as the narrator. He’s a lucky dog to have such a good mommy there for him.
